“Too Soon To Tell” and “Too Late” were made as a pair. "Too Soon To Tell” references the innocence and hope of childhood. I chose eggshells as the primary medium because of obvious reasons. Eggshells are strong and fragile at once. They guard and nurture within them the hope of life and nourishment. They are beautiful and can easily, if tediously, be worked into mosaics.

“Too Late” means to me that an opportunity has passed. The doll is slathered in concrete, with a bit of batiked eggshell at the heart. The box is covered in eggshell mosaic and then with a light coating of concrete.”

“Secrets “is an homage to early childhood. I believed as a child that a bird flew into our hotel room window when my family was visiting Niagara Falls. In this fantasy, my grandparents kept the bird and brought it to their house. No such bird ever existed, but my image of it was so real as a child, that whenever I needed to escape reality, the bird would fly in my window and take me away with it.

“Surrender” is about a hard won lesson. Much as we would like to control the events in our world, sometimes we just have to surrender and ride the wave.

“Waiting For the Wolf” riffs on the Little Red Riding Hood theme. Sometimes you know the wolf is coming for you and there’s nowhere to hide.
